dwarf frog PH level

Question
We have recently set up an aquarium in preparation for two dwarf frogs. The tank is a 30 gallon tank, and we have a heater and a duetto 100 filter in it. We bought treated water from the local pet store for the tank. The pH level is 6.4 in this water. Everything we've read states the pH comfort level for dwarf frogs is higher than this (7.0 to 7.6). Is this something we need to be concerned about? Should we raise the pH level of the water? Since they are probably being kept in water that is 6.4, will they die if they are transferred to water that is, say, 7.8?

thanks,
mathew

Answer
Dear Mat,
Try to gradually acclimate them to the different ph by floating them in the bags that they came in and add a little of the water that is a higher ph to the bag. Do this for about an hour, adding a little of the higher ph every few minutes. They should do well at the higher ph if you slowly get them used to it. Good luck!
Hope this helps!
