Question
I have had my tank for about a month now. I've owned about 8 fish in it and have 2 left, both of which look sick. they are both mollies(one black, one silver) the silver one appears to be getting stronger and the ich is going away on her but the black one has some kind of white film on her that looks kinda like she got painted white. the pH level is 7.6, i have added some aquarium salt, i have been using ich treatment, the temperature is perfect and i have a live plant. i dont know what else to do.

Answer
Hi Jessica,
Your tank is only a month old so this could explain why you lost your fish. Your tank will take six weeks to cycle with daily water changes. The ammonia levels will be high which is the cause of their whitespot. You are doing the right thing on adding aquarium salt. Turn the heater up a few degrees to speed up the life process of the ich so they die more quickly.

Regards,
Chloe.
