Questionhi chris,
i am a new owner (about 2 months) of a beta. i recieved him for my b-day. i am am just learning about this incredible fish but i have some concerns. i bought him a 2.5 gallons tank with a filter and notice that the current pushes him around. is this bad for him? he seems to just lean up against the filter when it is on. so i turn it off often.
another concern of mine is that i have noticed his poop is a clearish white. is that normal?
please help--
desi
AnswerHi Desi;
Clearish white feces isn't normal. It may be an internal parasite infection. Go to the local fish store and find a medication that treats it. It must be a type that is mixed with food or some are actually parasite treatment foods already made. Check out what they have.
There is a do-it-yourself thing to slow the filter current down. It is recommended by an expert from the About.com freshwater fish forum. Here is the link;
