Question
I'm trying to find out what is going on with two of my fish. It looks like they have warts growing on them. I know it's not. I first noticed it on the one growing on both sides under it's fins. Now it has spread to another fish getting one on it's tail and two more on it's left side. I looked up as much as I could it's not green or white and it's not in the shape of a V. If you could give me some idea as to what this is I would really appreciate it.
thank you
Fawn

Answer
Hi Fawn, this is Nicole from the category Fish. I am answering your question from the Question Pool, since the expert you directed your question to is not available. Your question just became available to the rest of us. On behalf of AllExperts, apologies for the lack of a timely response.

I would love to try and help, except telling me what the bumps/lumps DON'T look like is not as helpful as telling me what they DO look like. You also don't mention what sort of fish are affected, and that's important, since certain fish are more susceptible than others to different ailments.

If you can provide me with this information, I would like to follow-up with you. In the meantime, read here:

A fairly safe medicine to try is Jungle's Parasite Clear. These fizz tabs are commonly available, and can even be found at Walmart. It is always best to treat in a hospital tank or container with aeration - an air pump with airline tubing connected to an airstone. It is not recommended to medicate without a diagnosis first. Be more descriptive and specific, and I'll do my best to help further.

Take care, and good luck.
