Botom Feeder - Pacasimis (sp?)

I have a bottom feeder not sure of the spelling, looks like a catfish but is not starts with a P.  It is losing one of it's side fins and is almost translucent now. What could this be, he is the only one in the tank.

Hi Su,
 It is called a plecostomus.  Losing a fin is very serious. Have you been doing regular weekly partial water changes?  You should be changing 20% of the water in the tank once a week, every week.
