sexing black moors

hi, i have two black moores im my cold water tank, as well as a couple of orandas and other fancies, i was just wondering, curiosity more than anything, is there any way of telling the sex of them? thanks for your help.

Hello Angie-

It's hard to sex fish, but there are a few things you can look for.
1.) The "egg spot" - this is a white spot on the belly of the fish, where the eggs are released in females.
2.) The "egg-filled belly" - Just what you're thinking; females are generally fairly plump and look like they've swallowed little golf balls when viewed from above.
