How can i tell female from female

I am not very good with African cichlids in general, but I believe that peacocks its something to do with the spots on the bottom back fin. If it has spots, there's a 50/50 chance of it being a male or a female, if it doesn't have spots, it's most likely a female. Another way to tell is to watch the fish. The most aggressive and most dominant fish is most likely the male. Females with most fish tend to have a bit less vibrant colors too. Hope that helps some.
