Question
Hi, im mike,

Recently ive bin having problems with my 29 gallon tank. I have a emperor 30-60 gal filter and a massive wand that makes a lot of bubbles.in the tank is a Oscar, Firemouth, and some african fish that gets to 6 in easily. Ive bin noticing that many brownish red stuff is growing on the sides of the aquarium. I usually wipe them off with a sponge. I am a clean freak and every time i get back from work i clean everything that looks ugly inside. I want to take it down a notch so i dont have to clean as often. i put less decoration so suff/algea didnt grow on it and clean my filter always because bacteria grows on it.need help do you know how to solve my problems with filter bacteria?

Answer
Your tank is soooo insanely overstocked you will always have those algae issues.

Lets work it out.

An oscar needs a 75 gallon aquarium as an absolute minimum.

An oscar and a firemouth would still probably be good in a 75g.

And oscar, firemouth, and african cichlids need about 125g.

So, you have a tank that is 4x too small, with filtration is that is too weak. You will ALWAYS have a dirty tank, and your fish will never live a full lifespan.
There is no easy solution except either returning the fish you have or getting a bigger tank. None of the fish you have would fit in that tank, even if you took all the others out and they were the only ones left.
