injured coldwater minnow

Question
Hi,
My daughters smallest minnow was missing.  We found it stuck inside the Elite Stingray filter - it had been sucked in the back.  We managed to free it, but it has been wedged inside, and has what likes like bruising in the middle of it's body.  The colour has drained from the rest of the fishes body. It is alive, and fairly active, but looks as if it has trauma injury ?internal.  We have removed it from the tank as the other fish were bullying it.  What should we do, and do you think it will recover.

Answer
With an injury like that there is little chance of survival, it can happen though. Leave him along, perform twice weekly water changes, and hope for the best.

You can cover the filter intake with an aquarium sponge or a piece of panty hose if you want to prevent this from happening again.
