cichlids and angels

Question
Hi,
I have a fairly new tank with assorted african cichlids.  Can I mix  bigger angels with them?  Also i have read where some people mix tetras with african cichlids. What do you think?

Hi Crystal,
  I would not put angelfish of any size in with African cichlids.  By African cichlids, I assume you mean East African cichlids, in which case, they really want hard, alkaline water.  Angelfish want soft neutral water.  

  You might be able to put Congo tetras in with African cichlids but I would not put any of the typical New World tetras in a tank with African cichlids.
