More Oranda Trouble

Hi Chris. I wrote a couple of weeks ago about my oranda w/ dark spots, slight dropsy? . Since we spoke last I returned her to the tank. I think the fresh h2o/12 hrs. may have been what caused these 'dark patches' (from the netting, although I was VERY gentle).Since I stopped the fresh H20 treatment,the dark patches have gotten slightly worse. Does this hyperpigmentation occur / fade gradually? The dropsy like puffyness has happened twice. Both times it subsided by the next day. My big concern is her behavior. She spends most of the time at the bottom of the tank. Sometimes she kinda leans to the side (this is new) her appitite seems fine but, she seems to have trouble eating?It's like she cannot open her mouth all the way, there is a lot of darkness on the bottom of her mouth.  I am currently doing a small h20 chg. in the tank every other day and feeding her medi-koi (it was on one of the links you sent). All tank peri. are good. Any advise is greatly appreciated. I'm still at a loss. Thank you.Lynne

It sounds like you are doing everything possible. Just keep up with water changes and the medicated food as recommended on the package. It's possible she has cancer or something. Wish I could help more. I just don't have any more ideas. You might try posting on the freshwater fish forum at About.com. There might be other suggestions from the experts and hobbyists there.
