QuestionHi Ron,
My tank is 7.5 gallons and I have some live plants, 2 guppies and 2 angels in it (the angels are small - 2 inches and 1 1/2 inches). A few days ago I had an ich breakout in the tank and the bigger angelfish was badly affected. It has now completely recovered from it. For the past 5-6 days I have been noticing a white spot on one of its small fins (the ones it keeps moving constantly near the gills). I have no idea what it is - doesn't look like itch, I think itch has smaller spots, and it has niether grown nor spread anywhere else (touchwood)! I just want to treat it now before it does any damage. The fish is behaving and eating normally. I have started itch medication in the tank for the past 2 days but it is not doing anything.
Any advice would help.
Thanks!
AnswerHi Shefi,
I think you mean "ich" not "itch". If it is a single white spot, I would not treat it. The treatment will cause more damage than good. The spot could be many things, including a bruise.
