my female chiclid convict is turning brigt orange yellow and blue is she getting ready to spawn ?
and my tempature is reading high i dont know if it is just that it is hot out side or what ? please help thank you

Hi Devin;

It sounds like your female may be getting ready to spawn. Keep in mind that if she does, the other fish are in grave danger. Convict cichlid parents have been known to kill fish many times their size to protect their young. I'm surprised the others are still alive even before the convicts breed. They are very aggressive fish. The size of the tank is very helpful. Larger is always better. You will have to divide the tank or separate the convicts if you want your others to survive.

Get a new thermometer to make sure your tank temperature is okay. Sometimes they fail. Sometimes heaters fail too. Be sure it isn't overheating.
