Question
I have recenly purchased two firemouth chichlids to add to my tank that already has two small african chichlids(one yellow and one looks albino) anyways the lady at the pet store says that one is male an one is female but the one that should be female seems to be hiding along side the heater or near the top of the tank. I noticed that that one has a little raging on it's tail fins and the bigger one is chasing it a bit. Does that mean they are both males claiming territory? What should I do, they both have two different ends of the tank with thier own hiding space if they want it.

Answer
Hi Faith,
They might be two males but they could also be a male and a female that just aren't getting along right now.  The key to a successful aquarium is to have lots of structure (wood, rock, plants) to break up the space and provide LOTS of hiding places for weaker fish to hide should they need or want to.
