How Do You Know If The Fish Is Pregnant?, and How Long Does It Take for it to come out?

Did the fish lay eggs, or have a live birth? Newborn fry are often hard to spot because they're around 1/16 - 1/8 of an inch long, and blend in very well! But please, let me know how things are going!
