cichlid sick

Question
my question is if one of my acei cichlids are holding fry and my electric yellow
are having some fin issues , can i treat my tank with antibiotic while i have fry on
the way is it safe for the mom and the fry? also when she does let the babies out
is it safe giving the new borns antibiotics

Hi Tricia,
 I am not a big fan of treating fish with antibiotics.  Personally, I would not treat a tank with babies in it. The choice is yours.

 It is far more likely that the "fin issues" are the result of aggression -- one fish biting another -- than a bacterial infection so antibiotics will not likely do anything anyway.
