Question
Hi
I'm going to a vacation for 1 week in july and i have 3 betta (all of them live in deffernt 2.5 g tank). All of my tank are doing really well. My bettas tank all have filter, heater and a sunlight lamp with some floating plant. So when i go should i put "betta 7-Day Fish Food Feeders" in the tank for my bettas? or should i just let them go hungry? Now about the light, should i just keep the light off? or should i ask some one in my family to turn it on and off everyday? or should i put the light on a timer? And do you think that my bettas will know the "Betta 7-Day Fish Food Feeders" is something that they should eat?

Thank you very much!

Answer
Hi Quanz,
7 day betta feeders will pollute your water.  Bettas are fussy eaters, and most will not eat this.  It would be much better for your bettas if a family member or friend went in to feed them once everyday or once every two days.  Tell them to feed them 2 pellets, or 2 flakes each when they go to feed them.  This would be enough for them while you are gone.  Be sure to tell them not to overfeed or you will come home to sick fish.  Bettas do not need lights.  They prefer the light of day, so do not worry about that.  Maybe you could leave a soft light on in the room they are in.  Feeding them small amounts will keep them until you come home.
I hope this helps.
