injured beta

Question
I just bought a female beta and put it in the tank with my male beta, not knowing that this was not a good idea.  Couple of hours later, I noticed the male beta's tail all torn up.  I immediatley removed the female.  My question is, Will the male beta be ok?  Will his tail heal?  What should I do?

Hi Pennie,
  Separating the two was the right thing to do.  Now the male needs time to heal. There really isn't anything special you should do other than give him time to heal.
