I think one of my goldfish might be female

QUESTION: Hello. Can I ask you a question about my goldfish? I'm no goldfish expert but I think one of my goldfish might be female. How do you tell if a goldfish is female or male?
Thank you so much for your help with my fish and Chance. He is a little star today. Funny story about Toby. We got him of a friends mum who's cat had had kittens. When we were finally able to take him home we were told by my friend that he was a girl so I called him Cara. We took him to the vets when he was old enough and asked her to check what sex he was and she said the cat was definately male so she was a he and I stood there in the room for an hour and half trying to think of a name. The vet went of to fetch a book of names she had to help me and we looked through the book and I said eventually "I think I will call him Toby." The vet changed his details for us from female to male and from Cara to Toby. It was funny. Me and my sister walked out of the vets room with the vet laughing and the vet said they have never had that before. It was hilariouse haha. The receptionist asked what we were laughing at and when we told her she announced it over a microphone thing so that everybody heard and everybody in there burst out laughing. She was a he, can you believe that. Oops I won't be making that mistake again. Sorry. I've wrote a book again. I told you I get carried away.

That is a funnt story, it seems you and toby have had a good life together while it lasted..

This is spawning season so females will be fatter and will be constantly chased by males, also there openings are more vent shaped rather than circular

QUESTION: Hello. Is Dasher a female? bicause Dsher is fatter, constantly being chased by Comet and the opening is more vent shaped rather than circular. Chance has got a but. It'sone of those tummy bugs but the vet gave me antibiotics to give him but he won't take them. He needs to though. Am I going to end up with baby goldfish?

ANSWER: Yes it sounds as though dasher is female, but nery unlikely you will have babies as as soon as eggs are layed the adults will eat the eggs, and i recently had goldfish fry in a seperated tank and they are very very hard to care for. But you may if your lucky


Hide chance's tablets in a s lice of ham or something and fold it over and hopefully he will eat it it one.

QUESTION: Hello. Two things, I managed to get Chance to take his tablet hidden in his favourite treat and I got another 2 year old female golden retriever called Dixie. She is spayed. My fella got her for me. Chance loves her. They are playing now. They sleep together as well. Dixie is darker in colour than Chance. He has got the hang of roll over. I have a little zoo here haha. Do you think I am a bad  pet owner because somebody at college said I am a bad pet owner and shouldn't own pets because I'm having no luck having lost Toby four weeks ago. He was my little tinkerbell. I had a gazillian nicknames for Toby. I called him my sunshine and my shineing star and my little angel too.
