aquarium water temp for goldfish

Question
I have a 10 gallon tank with pump.  It's hot here in Arizona. The tank temp reads 80 deg now and I have the a/c on. I to use ice, but it's not a good process I hear. How high can the temp go for goldfish (8) in various sizes, plus algae eaters and one black moor.  The fish seem to hover at the surface like they are eating but they are not. Is it because of the warm temp?  I feed them 3 times daily. I change water every two weeks. But now even any kind of clean water is still very warm. Thanks

Answer
Hey Tomcat.

I was at a complete loss here, so I asked one of my very best friend's... This is HER expert advice, not mine ^_^

"I'd reduce the feedings to every other or every third day, and clean the water at least weekly, maybe twice a week. Open the lid to allow for evaporation, which can help cool the tank. When the temperature is over 80f, fill two small bottles with water and freeze them (not completely full), put one in the tank and allow it to slowly melt.  When it's almost completely melted, replace with the still-frozen bottle, and refreeze the used one. Continue doing this until the house temperature drops to below 80f.  When it's under 80f, get a 'pole fan' (just a taller fan in general), open the lid and allow the fan to blow on the tank.  This will remove surface temperature."

Those are her words, not mine, I don't want to take credit for her good advice!
