One eye swollen and breathing heavy

I have a peacock cichlid I notice he was scratching his face so I put aquarium salt but now one eye is big and he is breathing heavy can u help please.

Does he have anything that is hanging from his eye? We are looking for a parasite. If not, then he might have scratched it on something. The salt should help him. If it does not seem to be working, you can buy medication that will help him. You will find it at your local pet supply store. Make sure that there are no jagged decorations in his tank.
