Question
Hi, can you please tell me why one of my balloon belly mollys is swimming upside down. My tank is 60 litres, set up for 11 months, water temp 25 deg, has filter and aireator, and 20 other fish including flying foxes, harlquihs, scissor tails, plecos

Answer
Hi Peter,
Unfortunately that is a very bad sign.  It typically means that the fish has either an intestinal problem or a swim bladder problem, either of which is very serious and difficult to do anything about.  Sadly, once a fish is swimming upside down, it seldom recovers.  Such a condition could be brought on by disease, bad food or even as the result of an attack by another fish.
