Betta as a companion fish

Hello,
Would a Betta make an acceptable companion to a plecostomus in a 15 gal. tank?  The pleco is about 3" in size, the tank is filtered but UNheated. Would I need to get a heater if I added the Betta?  Would they get along as the only two fish in the tank?

Yes, you would need a heater and the temp. would need to be at 77 degrees F. You need a filter and i would suggest 2 5-15 gallon filters made by aqua-tech then you would do 25% water changes every 7-10 days. Don't forget to change the filter inserts at least every 2 months. The reason you need the filters is so you wouldn't have ammonia kill your fish.
