Pearscale getting popeye

Question
QUESTION: Hello,  I have a Pearlscale and Black Moor. Both have eye issues. MY moor has a cloudy eye and despite several treatments he still has it. I have been told that it may never go away. My pearscale has popeye and gets it every time she eats. I feed them sinking pellets, peas and algae wafers. The water condition is all normal and I use aquarium salt in the tank. Also, my pearscale has a thing sticking out of her top fin. It doesn't seem to be a hook worm or anything but maybe a piece of skin hanging?! What do you think? Thank you for your help.

ANSWER: Well for popeye i would treat that with maracyn-two and that should fix the problem. I would treat the blackmoor with Jungles Fungus Clear and that should fix the eye cloud problem!!!

QUESTION: Thanks for that.. But is there a reason she keeps getting popeye?? Is there something I am doing wrong or should be doing different? Is there a way to prevent it from happening??
ANSWER: Well I haven't found out what causes pop-eye yet, but i will try to find out if you want me to. Do you have a test kit to check ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,P.h.,alkalinity, and hardness if one of those are to high or to low it might be cuasing the infection, but i don't think that is it. The only way to prevent it from happening is to cure it with maracyn-two.

QUESTION: lol.. I know I am being a pain but if you could find out that would be great. It goes away on it's own by the following day but as soon as I feed them again her eye swells up. Maybe the food? She is a big piggy and puts her mouth all the way out of the water when its feeding time like she wants me to put the food straight in her mouth.. lol. Maybe she is just taking in too much air and there is nothing to worry about?! As for the water as stated before, the water tests all show normal. I want to find out why it is happening and not medicate when there is no reason to medicate.

Answer
You are not being a pain i like answering questions about these kind of things. So the pop-eye shows up then goes away i have never heard of this before i wouldn't treat because it sounds like it has a different disease or an allergic reaction to something (food maybe?) I would switch to a different food to see if anything changes.
