can I add a oscar to my fish tank

QUESTION: hi in my 50 gallon tank I have 2 juvenile Texas cichlids, 2 jewel cichlids,a silver dollar and a yellow bullhead catfish. do you think i could get a Oscar

ANSWER: Hi Ben,
 If you add an oscar, he will sooner or later, eat all the other fish, possibly including the catfish. That is what oscars do.  They are very good at it.

 A bichir or a needlefish will do the same thing, i.e., eat all your other fish.

QUESTION: me again there is a disease going around my fish tank and i was wondering if you know what it could be? its mainly affecting my 2 jewel cichlids and my krib. all three of them have unnaturally dark colors and the jewels stay very close two the bottom of the tank. there also not eating.

PS my bullhead( who's eaten 2 angle fish and a ram)has not eaten his rosy reds

Hi Ben,
 Are you doing regular weekly partial water changes?  You should be changing 25% of the water once a week, every week, to keep your fish happy and healthy.
