Question
dear Ron Coleman( i think)i have three ciclides in a tank of 16 by 36 inches holding 50 gallons. i would like a turtle (a baby) but i am sure one might eat the other, like the case with my plecto. i have two large objects,a water fall and a piece of wood, and also several plastic plants. in what conditions should i keep my turtle, if not in my tank.

Answer
Hi Michy,
I would not put cichlids and a turtle in the same tank, because the turtle will very likely eat the cichlids.  Also, turtles tend to make quite a mess so you need to change the water in a turtle tank very often, usually every few days.

Turtles are best kept in a tank where they have a mixture of land and water so that they can crawl out when they want to.
