Feeding baby fish while away on vacation

Question
Hi Andy,

Yesterday I found 10 baby frys in my tank!  Very exciting.  I've got them isolated in a netted tank in the aquarium.  I've been feeding them with flake powder I made.  Should I be feeding them twice or day or several times a day?

In two weeks, I will be going away for about a week and wondered what I should do about feeding the frys.  Is there some kind of time-release pellet available for baby fish?  Or can I use the food pellet I use for the adult fish in their netted area?  I could ask a neighbor to help as an alternative, but I'd rather figure out another way if possible.

Thanks.
Gail

Answer
Hi Gail,
Feeding them once a day is fine, though twice a day is better.  Crushed flakes is perfect.

I would NOT use a time release pellet for fry. In fact, I would never use them at all. They are not good in my opinion.  You would be much better to ask a neighbor to pop in to feed them once
a day.
