Betta has big belly

Sick little Red   My betta is 1 year old and recently he has big belly. He always head up near the water surface (vertically)....he looks very suffering.
We did research online and feed him peas everyday. He does poo everyday. It has been more than a week..but he still has big belly
Now..he is getting weak...what should we do?

What are you feeding him? Is this a hospital tank that he is in. The pea works best if you fast the fish for two days. On the third day feed him a shelled cooked pea. DO NOT feed him the outer shell of the pea because he cannot digest it. After you feed the pea fast him again for 2 days. Make sure he has a heater in the tank set at 80 degrees at all times. Even if he is in a hospital tank. You can also try giving him an Epson salt bath. If he has fluid building up this will help draw it out. Let me know if the pea that you gave him is both shelled and cooked.
