Question
I am just one year in Lynn, MA and having difficult time finding an Avian Vet.  Exotic/Avian Vet searches and sites are not accurate.  When I call they state - NOT Avian Vet.
I was referred to one in Salem - $62.00 per bird (I have three) for a physical including wing and nail clip.  The if in that year another is needed the charge is $28.00, again per bird.

My regular Avian Vet in Las Vegas charged an office call $30.00 for the whole flock to be seen and did a clipping if necessary.  If I brought in a bird for clipping only - $17.00.  He was exceptionally good with the birds.

I also have a cockatiel subject to sinus infection - she came from a shelter.  He did eye surgery on both of her eyes.  Then had to do it again - at no charge.

Now I realize how lucky I was to have an exceptional Avian Vet at reasonable prices.

I am not comfortable not having a regular avian vet - my parakeet just had an injury on cere from parrot - I dabbed on antibiotic ointment and he is fine

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Answer
Hi,

Unfortunately you will not find much lower of prices in the part of the US. I pay that fee (a little less). But that is about the fee. It is usually $48.00 for me to walk in the door and have a "look over and weigh in". I am sorry I cannot be of much assistance.
