Conure feather problem

Question
I have a year old green cheek conure who had beautiful feathers at one time.  Now his feathers on his belly and wings look like gray fur.  It almost looks like molt, but it has been like this for a couple of months.  He seems fine other than this. Does anyone know what could be the problem.

Hi Mark,

You are right to be concerned. Feather quality says a lot about a bird's health. Poor feathering of any kind can be the symptom of poor nutrition or an illness. I recommend you take your bird to an avian veterinarian.
