canary bleeding

my mom's canary is bleeding from the rectum?  Do you know what is causing this?

Hello Lisa and thank you for your post.
I am sorry that it took so long for me to answer you, but I had computer problems that are hopefully resolved now.
There could be so many things that can cause this.  My recommendation is to take the Canary into a Certified Avian or Exotic Animal Vet to have it checked.  Please keep in mind that a bird does not have much blood, and it can bleed to death very quickly.
