Question
Hi

I am going to get my tiles a bigger cage but wanted to know if a cage 3 feet tall 14 inches wide and 18 inches deep would be large enough? There cage is 24/18/14 right now, heres the site for the new cage if you want to see it: www.petcetera.ca

Answer
Although this new cage would be taller, it would not give the birds any more usable space. The birds would stay towards the top of the cage (birds like to be as high as possible)... and would thus have the same about of usable space as their old cage.

I would recomend looking for a cage that is at least 22 inches long, at least 18 inches deep, and at least 22 inches high. However, a cage that is 30 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 18 inches high would work well too. The measurments don't have to be exact, but just remember the bigger the better- and that when looking for a bigger cage it is essential that you look for a cage with more usable space.  Since you have two cockatiels it is extremely important that you get them a larger cage (If you have more than two tiels... you will need a much larger cage than the sizes I mentioned earlier).  The cage that you are looking at on internet is marketed at the store I work at for budgies or finches, not cockatiels. (I was disappointed to see a cockatiel in the cage on the website you mentioned).

I hope this helps.
