Question
Hi.  My daughter's mare is due to deliver any day now and we are not feeling the foal move.  How often do they usually move enough to be detected?
Thanks!

Answer
Hi-The last few weeks, there is not going to be much moving going on in there. It is a tight squeeze and the foal is positioning his/her self for delivery.  The hips and tailbone area is prominant about a week before delivery and her milk should be full- About 24 hours before they foal you should notice her "Waxing up". You will se white on the ends of her teats.I hope this helps you- Best of luck with your baby!!! Heather
