My daughter got a turtle for Christmas 2009, we went on vacation and left grandma and grandpa in charge of Hisses (russian turtle) when he came home he had swollen eyes especially his right eye how do i know if i need to take him to a vet or what can i do? He is a part of our family my daughter is really concern what can i do to help hisses. will it go away soon

This sounds like Vitamin A Deficiency (Hypovitaminosis A). Is his diet correct? has anything changed in his care?

Id lok at the feeding issue, is it correct has or had the diet changed while you were gone?
If so get him back on the diet he was on,

heat temps ok?

A vet will have to evaluate if you have made changes back to the normal and he doesnt clear up.  Let me know if I can be of more help
