Question
Hi...
I just read .your answer from another turtle owner. My question is; is there a more specific list of foods that should be in my wood turtles' diet? When I first bought/adopted them they did eat most anything but I wanted to give them more variety.
For example, the last few feedings have included black berries, kiwi, pear %26 mustard greens, They don't seem interested at all. I want them to be healthy %26 happy but also do not want to waste money on food that they won't eat or don't like. Can you help me with this?
Also, as far as humidity is concerned, would it benefit them if I purchased a fountain/pool for there habitat?(similar to those used in chameleon habitats) They have a nice, deep container now to immerse themselves but I was thinking maybe this would help stabilize the humidity.
Thanks much....
Patty

Answer
Kind of hard to recommend a "more specific" food list, because you didn't list with specificity what you were offering before. Wood turtles aren't really a specialty of mine, but I would suggest searching World Chelonian Trust, Tortoise Trust, and Austins Turtle Page. Those resources are easy enough to find with web search.

As to the humidity, I would defer to what you find on the mentioned sites. I would think a fountain/pool would be great for them, as they are semi-aquatic species and are known to swim.
