Red Eared Slider and Yellow Belly Turtles

Question
I have 2 red eared sliders they are about an inch and a half big and a yellow belly slider about four to five inches and i was wondering if i could put them all in the same tank? I have had the babys since august and the yellow since yesterday all three bought from pet stores. And all eat really good.

Answer
Sure, as long as there is enough room. Overcrowding causes stress, aggression, etc.

Aim for about 10 gallons of water per inch of turtle shell length total. You have about 8" of turtle, so should be using a 100 gallon tank, mostly filled.

I know that many sources do not tell you to use big tanks, but experts, professional breeders, wildlife researchers, etc. all agree that sheer space is one of the keys to happy, healthy turtles.
