Question

belly of turtle I was given a turtle from a friend who was moving away and she told me it was a red slider, but the pictures on the Internet don't look like him/her. is there anyway you could tell me the species of this turtle? Also once i know the species, i can do some research to put it in the right envirnment. she had it in only about 4 inches of water with rock. if you need more pictures, i can send them

Hi Michelle, he does look like a Red Ear Slider but without seeing his face it is hard to tell. Does he have any red coloring on his face? If not then he might be a Yellow Belly Slider. They look almost identicle except they don't have the red on their face.

The care for the Yellow Belly Slider and the Red Ear Slider is the same.
