Brown Shell

Question

Freddy   This is freddy, i've had her for over 20 years. for the last 15 of those years, she has had this brown color to her shell. She has been sick once in her life - only for a week, with an eye infection a few years ago, but never has stopped eating. When i got her when was 6, she was 3 inches and had a green shell. but it changed over time. Is this normal?

Jeff,  She is a cutie. The front claws are pretty long Freddy may be a FREDDY. It is very common for them to go through several carapace color changes as they age. Freddy looks fine. A vita-shell rub occasionally wouldn't hurt. Also as Freddy gets older the tell tale red lines of the sliders can fade too. Looks like a happy turtle to me ...great job!!! Good Luck, Tina
