spot on turtles

i have a turtle that has a white spot on left front foot. i just noticed it this morning. what could it be?

Answer
It could be a small fungus spot. We would approach this by first making sure the water quality and cares are OK (http://www.austinsturtlepage.com ), then doing some first aid.

The first wave of attack is a sulfa dip from the pet store. If this does not help in a few days we go to the next level.

Wash the area with Betadyne (Providone iodine) and let dry, then dab on some antibiotic ointment, and keep the turtle out of the water for a few hours, and repeat daily.
