Swollen feet

Question
I have 2 red ear sliders and I purchased them in 2006, they were the size of a quarter or a half-dollar, they are growing but one is larger than the other, the larger one has swollen rear feet so I put that one in a container by itself, the smaller one stepped on one of the swollen feet and that turtle was trying to get away from that small turtle. What is wrong with my baby turtle?  Thank You!

Answer
Hello Erika, it is common that females grow faster and get larger then males so that might be why the other one isn't growing as fast. Not positive this is the case but its a possibility. Swollen feet, sound like an infection, but I am not medically trained and its not a diagnosis but something is not right, you should take him to the vet to find out what it is. It also sounds like they are having territory problems. They might need to be separated if they show any signs of agression.
