sick red footed tortoise

My 1yr old tort, has not be eating well. I have had him for a week. Just now I went over to  his cage and he was foaming atthe mouth ang gasping, I cannot see any food lodged, He was outside. Nothing I could see was in his cage. Could ha have been bitten by a bug? There were some red ants in there, and flys. I washed him off, his mouth etc, and he seems to have calmed down? I have been to the vet already and they had no answers? Can you help or email the Mark guy for me, hi is not avaliable on this forum fo rnow I guess?

If you want to ask Mark, then you will have to wait until he is available. If you ask me, then I require certain information. It doesn't sound like the tortoise has time to waste, and it doesn't sound like he has been to a vet, since you say you saw this condition "just now". A vet would have SOME answer for it. I can't imagine them sending you away without even an educated guess or observation.
