QuestionI'm not sure if anyone has asked this before but I recently bought a Cherry-headed Tortoise from the pet store and I was wondering if there is a way I can tell if its a male or female?
AnswerFirst of all, a Cherry-head is just the Brazilian version of the Red-foot Tortoise- all cares, etc. are the same for these. I'm betting you got yours at either PetCo or PetSmart, probably PetCo. I have noticed for the last couple years they sell 'cherryheads' and a.) claim they need differnet care than Red-foots, and b.) are often not even really cherryheads!
As for sexing it... until it is about 4-6" long, you cannot do this accurately. When it is ready here is a helpful site:

A couple care sites I like are:
Good luck!
