Question
Hi! I am new to the reptile world and I am getting a Greek Tortoise and some lizards. But I was also wondering what species of lizard I can put with my Tortoise. I was thinking like a Bearded Dragon or Jumbo Geiko. Or if you have any other begginer reccomandations please let me know!

Answer
You will want to make sure the lizard has the same basic habitat needs as the tortoise. Bearded Dragons want much warmer and drier habitats than Greeks do, and many geckos want it more humid than Greeks like it.

It is also tough for beginners to help ensure that things are OK for both. Is the habitat big enough for both to stay away from each other? Will the lizard be able to escape- and if the habitat is a tightly closed tank, how will the tortoise get enough fresh air?

I really would not recommend them sharing a habitat until you get enough experience to understand the issues involved and how to manage them. But don't worry- it is not like we are talking about this taking years or anything!
