wild wounded red-eared slider

Question
I found a wild 4" red eared slider with a freshly amputated hind leg. It appears to be completely missing into the shell and something (a fly?) has laid eggs in the wound.  Any suggestions on how to treat this wound?  Is this sort of wound recoverable?  I would be willing to keep it as a pet if I can get it to survive. Do I try to swab the eggs out and then treat it with something? Antibiotic salve or iodine? Any recommendations would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer
No you can't keep it as a pet. It's a wild animal and it needs treatment from a veterinarian or wildlife rehabber because it's going to need things you won't have. This isn't something we fix with "salve". I need to see the thing first though before advising what to do or who to see, so you will have to find my page at https://facebook.com/reptilerescue - Wichita Falls Reptile Rescue and send photos of the wounds ASAP.

This questioner turned out to be the kind of unethical person who finds some kind of wild animal they think they can keep - not interested in what was best for the animal and seeing it go to someone who had the experience to help it. She was only interested in seeing the animal receive help if SHE could keep it, and asking someone to guide her through her ignorance and experiment at the animal's risk, all because she wasn't willing to help it if it meant having to give it up. This turtle had lost a limb, it was infected, and infested with parasites, and yet she wasn't interested in hearing that it needed to go elsewhere, despite her obvious lack of knowledge and that this was experimenting on the animal's time. That's pretty selfish.
