QuestionHello
Do you need a heat lamp to use a heat blub or can the bulb be used in a normal table lamp?
AnswerNormally, a heat lamp puts out so much heat that it will melt a normal light socket. You want to look for a ceramic socket to tolerate the heat.
You can generally find 'clamp lights' or 'drop lights' with ceramic sockets and often with useful metal reflectors in most larger hardware stores. This is a simple socket with a on/off switch and a power cord. They are usually cheap, and the clampp makes them easy to position.
You can also, if you are handy in this way, make a simple heat lamp socket out of a plain ceramic light bulb socket, also available at a hardware store.
