yellow belly terrapin

iv just bought a yellow belly terrapin about a month ago and its been fine.but just recently iv noticed that it has lots of lose skin or something on the back legs and body.im new to this so i don't know if this is normal or not
(like shedding its skin)he is eating fine and swims a lot but i am still learning and would like to know if he is ill or there is something i can do.if you know the answer to my problem please let me know thanks Mick

Hello Mick, he is just shedding his skin and its perfectly normal. And is actually a good sign that he/she is growing. They usually will shed in the warmer weather and warmer months but all year round is not rare. Do not try to help pull it off, it can damage the new skin underneath. It will come off in its own time or from help of the turtle. Just let him be
