QuestionHi, I have two redfooted tortoises, Einstein and Newton. Recently Einstein's head has turned white and is quite dry. When we wet it with water it goes away but comes back as soon as he is dry. We recently added a second UV light to his terrarium. What should we do.

AnswerRed-foots NEED WARM temps (80-85F), LOW light (they only get about 2% of the sun in their wild habitat- they are pretty sun-shy), and HIGH humidity (90%+) at least in some part of their habitat for health.
I've rescued a couple of these guys with the same condition,and it goes away quickly with the right diet (high in moisture), high humidity, etc.
