What species of turtle is this?

Our turtle   QUESTION: We found this little guy in VA Beach.  He loves the water, we put him in our fish tank and he will swim around then hide in the shrubs.  He likes to hang on the top of the castle and stick his head out of the water.  
He has a long neck and spots.  If you know what kind he is please let me know so we can be sure we are caring for him correctly.

ANSWER: Michelle,   Could you answer a couple questions for me real quick please? Did you pick him up on the beach or a pet shop or where. I think I know what you have nut, do not want to speculate. So if you can be abit more specific about where you found him we can figure this out. Also we can talk about housing for him. Hope to hear from you soon , Tina

QUESTION: We found him on the boardwalk in VA Beach.  We have discovered he is a DiamondBack Terrapin.  I would love input on the best way to care for him.  Thank you

Michelle , I have to tell you this one has me. I think you have something else. So before we go into care and things for water turtles and some easy ways I know to keep and feed them well, I am going to ask one of the other experts that has excellent credentials. So we will go with what we think he or she is now .....let her stay in the tank and please give me abit. .... < Tina        Michelle, I would like you to send this picture and question to Mick in turtles. I haven't been on this site for about three years having problem getting question to him. It is imparative this is done ASAP for the health of your new baby.
