Russian beak growth

Question
Hello, I Love my male Russian, I've had him for about two years and overall he is doing well.  Please help me with some problems.  First, his beak grows too long.  I had the vet trim it once and she suggested diet changes.  I have been feeding more greens and less veggies,  but his beak is long again.  What should I do?  Also, the vet thought his growth pattern to be off.  He shows growth around the last row of scales but not so much on the upper scales. Is this OK ? And lastly, he smells slightly of urine on his skin around his head.  His cloaca is clean, eyes bright and last parasite test was negative.  Is this a "not enough water" problem?  Thanks so much for your help. People don't believe me when I tell them how wonderful he is, Please help me take better care of him.  Tasha

Answer
Greens are not the answer- tough, fiberous stuff is. Aim for Timothy hay, mulberry leaves, grasses, plant stems and flowers, and other dry stuff as well.

Get the diet fixed, and the gorwth patterns will clear up as well.
