Question
hey!   i have 2 baby turtles and 1 wont eat!i just got it like 4 days ago and its a yellow bellied turtle. it just wont eat, 4 days without food? what wrong? i don't have a heating lamp but i keep it outside.the water is warmish. i tried leaving it alone in a bowl with food but it wont eat, instead the other turtle eats it! what do you think might be the problem??

Answer
There are too many things this could be, and your background was not complete enough. Was this turtle wild caught from a pond or something? If so, I would urge you to return it to the exact same place, as wild caught turtles tend to stress this way and refuse to eat, often until death. If a reptile does not feel safe, it will not eat, and with a wild one, this usually means it starves before it feels safe enough in captivity around people.

Before I can answer your question further, I need you to tell me if you caught this turtle from the wild. Please ask the question again later, and tell me turtle's origin, and include the relevant information in detail as outlined in the "instructions to questioners" box on the "ask question" page.

Even if the answer is "no" or you "don't know", include an answer or description on the kind of things outlined, so that I have more details to go on. You didn't state what kind of habitat the turtle was in, how much water, what exactly you were trying to feed it, water temp "warmish" is vague, etc. I need more to go on. Sorry.
